Did you miss me?

This is where I like to work- on my dining room table.  It's close to bathrooms, snacks, telephone, and TV.  Today I am watching a movie on my new Kindle Fire.  Behind me are carts with stamping supplies.  In front of me on the table is a makeup rack that I won at the Shiawassee County Fair many years ago, it helps me to stay organized because I can create chaos!

Here is a close up of my card.  I used a Maybelle R O stamp from the TAC company and also sentiments from another set also by the TAC

Let's Celebrate!

Such a busy time of year with Easter, graduations, birthdays, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, and all kinds of celebrations!  I hope you are enjoying this season- I'm still not convinced it is spring yet- and not getting stressed out over all the gifting and cooking to be done.  I have a brand new Big Shot and a lot of new stamps, dies, and punches so I have been busy in the Rubber Room creating.  Here are a couple of cards I made today while hubby was out getting groceries for our delicious Easter dinner:

Celebration Penguin was a freebie from 2 Cute Ink.  This is one of my entries in their Celebration Challenge.

Another entry in 2 Cute Ink's Celebration Challenge.
I think these turned out very cute!  Both cards use cute patterned paper from Papermania by Docraft and textured pink card stock.  I also used SU's Itty Bitty Banners stamp set- both French and English and cut them with the Bitty Banners dies.  The flowers are stamped with SU's Flower Shop and Petite Petals stamps then punch with the corresponding punches.  Leaves are punched with SU's Bird punch and for the butterflies I used the Beautiful Wings Sizzlet.   Pop dots, pearls, and googly eyes finish them up.

I Love Snowmen

Had enough snow this year?  It was insanely bitter cold last week in Michigan and I didn't leave the house for a week.  It felt good to slow down for a while but now I am ready for less shoveling and longer days!

Red Rubber Designs is hosting a Winter Stamp challenge so break out those winter stamps and start crafting!

For this card I used:
Sizzix Christmas Set #3
Cuttlebug Snowflake die
Pallet ink- Black Noir and Seascape
Your Next Stamp Mini Snowman Stamp and Die Combo
Sentiment from The Angel Company:  "I Love Snowmen"
Ribbon from Dollar General
Pop dots for snowflake and sentiment

Your Next Stamp is also hosting a Friday Fun Challenge in which you use a card sketch to design your card.

This card is entered in both challenges:
Winter Stamp Challenge
Friday Fun Challenge

Join in the fun and show us your creations!

Just Monkeying Around

Greetings!  Last week a good friend of mine had a birthday.  She loves sock monkeys so I designed some sock monkey slippers and a sock monkey card.  We surprised her a few weeks early with a party.  The theme- Sock Monkeys!

She looked pretty happy!

Here is a pic of the slippers and the card

This week's CAS challenge is no stamps and since I made the sock monkey face with punches I figured I could make a card without the sentiment on the front.

Here's my entry:

It kinda disappears on the background in the picture, but I was out of the red dot paper.  I used a 3" and  a  1 1/4" punch, and a button die.  Easy peasy!

Here is the challenge page:  CAS-ual Fridays

Now go make a card and enter, you might win!

World Card Making Day!

Here I am, I do live on the edge of the earth- but I haven't fallen off yet!  This has been a very busy year, I think getting ready for my son's wedding was nearly as stressful as my own was- maybe more so!  But now I have a lovely daughter-in-law and a precious granddaughter.  Here's a pic of the wedding party, all of my boys are in it, the one on the far right is the brother of the bride.  And yes, I made my granddaughter's gown.

 And now for my card:

Today was World Card Making day.  Recently I won some online auctions and acquired two pounds of TAC stamps.  I spent a good portion of the day mounting and indexing the Christmas stamps and a few others.  So they are tucked away in my Christmas stamp album and will be used soon to complete the Christmas cards for this upcoming season.
The card that I completed for today is also for a monthly challenge.  By entering a card I automatically get the next digi for free- so I win!  If they have a random drawing for an additional prize I have a chance to win that too!  It's not too late to get the first one for free at Designed2Delight.
In addition to the adorable "Owl and Pumpkins" digi from Designed2Delight, I used a sentiment from a TAC set called "Whooo Loves Ya?"  (Many of the old TAC sets are available from Red Rubber Designs.)  I colored the image with water color pencils form CTMH and stamped the image with SU's Early Espresso ink, a little ribbon and some googly eyes added just the right touch.

So now I am committed to updating my blog every month to get the free digis, so stay tuned for more!

Whimsy and Wit is hopping with Whimsy and Stars!

Guess I have been busy lately and haven't posted since February!  Oh well, when school is out I will probably be back into it.  SOOOO.....  today I am joining a blog hop- Whimsy and Wit.  The fabulous Maybelle R♥O is hosting her first blog hop.  All you have to do to play along is to use one of her images, digi or rubber, to make a project and link up to the hop. You could WIN a prize!  Maybelle R♥O images are available here.

This image is a digi called Sunflower Teapot.  I printed it on my printer and colored it with water color pencils.  I like the ones available from CTMH and you can get them here.  The sentiment is from a retired TAC set called "Dear Friend".  Many of the old TAC sets are now available at Red Rubber Designs.  I used Prussia Blue Palette ink also available from Red Rubber Designs in the Cezanne cube set.

And now for a trivia question:  What orchestral instrument is named for its shape?
